Well the argument goes on whether the original song composed is the best or its remixed version. So the question is why some musicians (DJ's) go for remix for a song. The answer might be to get better recording quality, inclusion of new beats, instruments, add more flavor to the song. One of the biggest challenge while doing so is to keep the melody of the song intact. The other amenity is that we will get to know that this kind of song prevailed. To take an example "Saiyyan Dil me Aana Re.."
Sometimes the original song will be better compared to the remixed counterpart. ("Yeh wada raha-Original" ) (Remixed by DJ Aqueel). The reason I am saying this the old song would have been sung by legendary like Lata Mangeshkar and KishoreKumar. You cant feel the same voice in the later version. But in few rare cases you feel the remixed song is the best. What better example can I take to this other than "Dil kya kare" from Julie remixed by the band Instant Karma and sung by Shaan. I like the way it starts and its composition (oops, re-composition). No , I am not blaming about the original either, just another view.
You can see in pubs, disc and in parties most of the DJ's use the popular remix songs or what they call as club-mix. Nowadays it has become a trend releasing a remixed version of atleast one of the song in the album. This is a very good idea in the sense before it is remixed by any other guy(gal), the original composer only gets a satisfaction of remixing the song. The popular one in this is title track of "Salaam Namaste" which has two remixed version in the original music release.
As we are seeing more number of people becoming themselves a musician/composer/DJ and claim themselves that they rock. From listener perspective anything is fine unless it is a good, rather a great job done by them.
